Mississippi River Warming, Spring Fishing Arrives

Spring thaw is making way for warming water and incensed fish activity, especially through the Mississippi River Valley.  As waters warm, fish long confined to the depths of ponds and rivers make their way to warmer pools, demonstrating increased activity.  Spring feeding and nesting are great times to pick up your rod and reel, heading to your favorite backwater or pond.

This photo, taken north of Galena, Illinois, shows the increased water flow from the upper Mississippi River basin, and the Greening of spring vegetation.
