About Luke

Located in SE Wisconsin, Luke became a land specialist because he believes land is the ultimate investment. Beyond a strong history of annual appreciation, there are many ways to make a return on investment off of land. Unlike the stock market, land owners have some control over the value of their investment. Luke enjoys identifying small, but impactful enhancements that maximize a property’s potential and desirability. Originally from the western Illinois, Luke was raised in the big buck factory known as the Golden Triangle. From a young age, you could find him with his Dad commercial fishing the Mississippi River or pheasant hunting the fields of Iowa. Today, Luke’s passion remains all things hunting and fishing, which only fuels his infatuation with land investment. It allows outdoor enthusiasts to pursue their passion while investing smartly. Luke has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing. As a LandGuy, Luke is looking forward to using his education and love for land to help you find your ultimate investment and maximize your return.

After 52 years of developing a parcel of land in Iowa County into something very special and as we were approaching our mid to late 70s, it became obvious that we could no longer maintain the property at the level it required. After reaching the very difficult decision to sell our property, we reached out to the LandGuys. And, we are so happy that we did. Within 24 hours of contacting them, Luke Wessel and Justin Bernklau met with us at our home. We were drawn to Luke and Justin immediately. They are both very likable and knowledgeable fellows. Within a couple of hours, they too realized they had something very special to work with. 

Justin, the media guy, spent portions of 5 days on our property taking many photos inside, outside and with the use of a drone, was able to put together a video that brought tears to our eyes. Justin captured totally the essence of what our property is and was able to showcase it perfectly. Six days after being listed and the video going online, the property sold at asking price with no contingencies. There was so much activity that Luke and Justin were in daily contact with us, sometimes several times a day.

“We met Luke in 2021, when we were contemplating a move. At the time we were not exactly sure what and where we wanted to buy and when we would sell. This put Luke in a challenging position – one that required patience and time… a lot of time. We looked at properties in two different states – and instead of sending us on our own (and collecting a referral fee) he met us places that required overnight stays.
