Quality deer management, persistence, and a strong hunting ethic earned these Northwestern Illinois archers incredible hunting adventures and a set of outstanding whitetail bucks in January. As these harvest pictures, and recent trail camera photographs prove, there are still great bucks “out there” for hardy archers willing to “work” and “wait.” The “work” is preparing food plots throughout the year, managing access, and assuring a skill set to promise a clean harvest. The “wait” is sticking with the hunt plan through weather, schedules, and other bucks.
